Help removing roof rails...
Getting my roof covered in black vinyl this week but the installer says it would be easier if we can remove the black roof rails that run along the side of the roof.
Anyone have any ideas how to do this

ive looked around for you. and i dont see is in any manual or computer manual. i dont think its bolted down coz i remember seeing someone with the same car and his roof trim was flapping open in the freeway. i think it should be a clip on. try prying it with a soft peice of plastic. dont force it you might break the clips if it uses clips. i highly doubt its on adhesive if it is much easier for you then.

I took a look in ALLDATAdiy.com, it looks like all you will need is a wedge to remove the clips on you Mercedes. I have attached a picture showing you where all of the clips are on your C230 courtesy of ALLDATAdiy.com

Ok, I'm gonna have to dig up an old thread here...
My problem is the opposite. My roof rails are loose, and no matter how many times I press them back into position in the clips, they will come loose again in the next high wind, or car wash. Is there a way to tighten the clips? or replace them with newer, tighter ones?
