2009 C350

Removing my muffler/resonator

But...

If I remove my muffler and/or resonator on my C320, I will probably get a CEL wont I?

I was sitting beside a guy at a stoplight today and his CLK320 was nearly as loud as my C63. I asked him what exhaust he has on it, and he said he took his off. Got me wanting to take mine of my C320. Anything I should be aware of?

no you will not get a CEL, you can even remove second cats and not get a CEL. If however you remove the primary cats then you will get a CEL. But removing the muffler and resonator and removing the second cats will not throw a CEL.

What's the difference in location between each?

Anyone know where I might find a diagram of the resonators? I don't want to get a CEL by removing the wrong one(s).

here's mine with reasonator removed...nothing after the primary cat has anything to do with emission just reducing sound.

it louder when the car is driving because of the supercharger...but the clip i showed is without the supercharger. The supercharger doesn't engage when the car is in park.

'02 C320 Wagon, '78 308 GTS, '06 Highlander Hybrid

Anyone got any exhaust diagrams? I've got an '02 C320 wagon and after the cats the exhaust from each bank stays separate and each goes into a small approx. 6" canister. Are these resonators or another cat? Then the exhaust from each of the banks meets up into a 16" component. Is this a muffler or resonator.

Lastly, what is the differnce between a muffler and a resonator?
