Resetting The Loop Help!

Whenever I take out my CD magazine for long hours and then put it back into the changer, I always get a NO CD CHANGER message. After a few attempts it works, and sometimes it doesn't. I am wondering if resetting the loop will help.

Can someone give me instructions on how to do this because I don't think the dealer knows. They've attempted to fix the changer 3x to no avail.

I know you have to hook up the system to a laptop. What program do they use and what is the procedures?

Exclamation

It does not cost that much to have the dealership to reset the loop.

Man, you guys don't understand. I don't plan on resetting it myself. I want to be able to explain to the dealer what software to use and how to do it because I have a feeling they don't know since they weren't able to fix the NO CD CHANGER message 4x now.

Sheesh,

Really "CD changer not present" or "magazine" not present?

If the magazine removal causes the CD to go not present, must be hardware related to the the Changer or the magazine, the SW for the loop is static. However the motion of the removal might jostle the connections in the rear of the Changer. I would start with making sure all connections are good and tight.

1) check connections
2) have dealer actually replace the Changer and magazine with a new one. They will, if you squawk about it.

BTW I am pretty sure the CD present is in the same DAS menu as NO Phone. for your original idea:

In stardiagnosis :-

Control Units -> Info. and comms. -> ICM -> Control Unit Adaptations -> Version Coding -> Optional Equipment

In the optional equipment menu you can set the following
to present or not-present depending on what you have

AUDIO, Tele-aid, Cellular Telephone, Trip Computer, Navigation

Should be AUDIO I assume.

Good Luck
