Question Coupe power seats & fuel gauge

I've been viewing this forum since august and posted a couple times on the old board.

I took delivery of my coupe last Friday after a 5 month wait.

The manual (yes, I read the whole thing ) states that, when you flip the front seatbacks forward to get access to the back seats, the headrest lowers and the seat moves forward. My passenger seat does this, but the drivers seat only lowers the headrest. It doesn't move forward at all.

Anyone with power seats: Is this normal? Am I missing something? I would think that if the passenger seat can move forward the driver's should as well.

My fuel gauge only reads 3/4 when full. The dealer told me this before I took delivery and ordered a new fuel sender (back-ordered). I've seen many posts on this board about this same problem, but haven't heard of any solutions. I'd hate for them to rip the car apart, replace the sender, and find that the problem still exists (along with any new problems created by the disassembly). Anyone have this problem fixed yet? I may just wait it out before I bring it in for service. My car doesn't want to be a guinea pig .

The driver's seat will move up and forward. On my car (w/o power seats) the driver's seat requires more effort than the passenger's seat. Try pulling harder.

I don't think replacing the fuel sender will require tearing the car apart. All that should be necessary is lowering the tank and replacing the sending unit.

If the seat is a certain distance forward it will not raise. The thought obviously being that there's enough room to get in the back, although I don't quite agree with the distance.

When I first got mine, the passenger seat was very stiff to move forward. The Driver's seat went without a problem. After about 3-5 tries, the passenger seat cleared up without issue. Haven't had any problems since. This is with OEM leather power seats.

Don't worry...

Don't worry about having them tear you new car apart. As I understand it all they do is loosen the fuel-tank, unscrew the faulty sensor/sensors, replace it/them with new ones and then replaces the fuel-tank. I have had this done on my car and according to my mechanic it was no big deal, and almost "routine work" for them.

If it had only been for the faulty sensor I would have had my car back the very same day.

Good luck!
