Yeh, if the sand doesn't show up well in the photo's, add some.

My driveway is steep as all hell...check my sig.
It's very difficult not to spin going out,
I sometimes use the winter setting (C or W depending on your car)
to keep them from spinning, as I seem to go through rear tires an awful lot more than I should.
Fortunately it's on my property.
Yeh, being 19, the cops just seem to come out of everywhere.
You learn to be more careful with age, and not make yourself stand out.
When I was that age, I was hassled constantly.
Luckily the fines and what not weren't as bad as they are today.
We got away with far more than we ever got caught for.
Looking back at the crap I pulled, and how I got over on the cops...
I'm lucky not to have to had to spend any time in jail...well I was held for a few hours once and released.
But thats another story.

Whats this about a 'drug conviction' ie weed preventing people from getting student aid?
Huh? I thought they just wrote people a ticket no biggie?

While many people advocate getting the medical cards, I for one,
would tend to lean towards not wanting to be a registered drug addict in the eyes of the feds, I mean assuming I smoked the stuff.
Can it prevent people from getting a security clearance?

My camera will be able to get everything in the picture (it's a very very good camera). As for being discrete... It was probably the being out at 1:30 in the morning and driving around with the windows down and the sunroof popped up that got me noticed. Plus the abundance of cops out at that time on a Friday night/Saturday morning. My chances were probably not very good. Live and learn.

I'm just messing with you. I called you out over in that 5-page thread about Kris's speeding ticket.

On the subject of Georgia: Under the new "Super Speeder" bill passed this year, if you are going over 85 mph on an interstate or over 75 on a two lane (I think there is something inbetween for 4-lane non-limited access, but I don't know) it is a 200.00 fine FROM THE STATE of Georgia. You will get the bill for the "Super Speeder Fine" AFTER you have plead and paid the find imposed by the court - when they report it to the state. Of course, if you don't pay it, your license gets suspended also. It starts July 1, and going to be pretty ugly.

I know, but it did seem to fit how we were going.

I thought it was over 85 on a four-lane, over 75 on a two lane - but that it had to be state highways. Interstates are federal highways and would be exempt. At least that was my understanding, could be wrong.

I do know that Interstate is definately included, but you got to remember that all Interstates (in Georgia at least) are designated, but not signed as a State Route. (i.e. I-75 is also GA 401, I-285 is also GA 407, I-95 is GA 405, I-20 is GA 402, I-85 is GA 403).

Touche.. but you know what, the $200 additional will go to a trauma center, not the government. So it is for a good cause. And honestly, that's giving you no less than 15-20mph over limit. You really shouldn't be getting Super Speeder tickets.

I agree, and it is a pretty good idea in a lot of ways.

130 - Nice, I haven't pushed one of ours that far, but the SLK will do triples with the top down and seem like 50. Now some others I've had up there, but they were not as smooth.

First off, Arab and Indian aren't the same thing.

Second, i feel your pain. I was on the way to UCF to take a final that i already took the night before because the POS servers for blackboard/webcourses crashed. Anyway, the speed limit is 65 and then changes to 55 before this long turn. I know this because i travel this road quite often. So i slow down to 55 and as the turn finishes i spot the FHP car. As a reflex i tap my brakes. He then peels out and kicks up a whole bunch of sand, follows me for a bit, then turns on the red and blue. I pull over and he does the usual, license and registration etc. Why did you get pulled over and all that. He then tells me i was speeding. I asked how fast and he said 74mph.

At this point I am baffled. There's no way in hell i was anywhere near 74mph. I had my MFD screen set to show the speed digitally to make sure i wasn't exceeding the limit. It had to be that he picked up someone else on his radar and pulled me over. I do think that some profiling was involved.

Get this, his name listed on the bottom of the ticket is M.B. Haight. I'm waiting on a court date as we speak.

I went out and bought a laser jammer because it seems that even if i don't speed and i do obey the laws, i still get penalized so i've got to defend myself.

Ryan,

Yeah, I know that Arab and Indian aren't the same thing, I was just joking. He calls himself Arab because he was once called a terrorist by a guy trying to insult him. In fact, he's really Trinidadian.

And yeah, blackboard really sucks sometimes, although I haven't had too many problems with it at UNF (although I've never had an online or hybrid course).

And that is really I need to get something too. Although I've toyed with the idea of getting a CB in the car for interstate travel (usually more reliable to listen to trucker chatter when they're just bursting with the radar gun).

Hay, I'm in Ft. Lauderdale,, over the years i have had my abundance of tickets,, if there is a mistake on your ticket ,,if you bring it ti their attention they will throw the ticket out if he wrote only 3 of the 6 letters/ numbers of your tag on the ticket the ticket is no good I would ask a lawyer to be sure or the court clerk is even better.. you may go in fromt of a madatratter instead of a judge and he will dismiss it id the clerk doesn't do it first. jim

They don't throw them out in GA over mistakes. My last speeding ticket he had me marked down as a female named Stacy driving a commercial vehicle C230. I still had to pay.

It was so confusing and so f'd up that the clerk at the court gave me a receipt and told me to keep it in my car to avoid arrest. The officer that stopped me was certainly a special one.. I'm quite sure his mom and dad were brother and sister.

I went to court on Monday for my careless driving ticket. The officer did show up, which I was very disappointed with. He testified, and said that he was doing paperwork and heard tires screeching consistent with taking a corner too fast. He then said that he saw a WHITE mercedes come around the corner. He said that he pulled out and I immediately slowed down (which I did not). He also said that the delayed the stop because f a light and a bridge (which were both plenty far away). The judge asked him if he was able to estimate a speed for me, which he stated as 30-35mph. The judge asked what the speed limit was: 35mph. He said that I admitted to being careless when he stopped me (which I did not). He did say that I was very polite and that he noted that in his report.

I then told my version of the story (what really happened). The officer asked why I did not say that to him at the time. I said I was trying to be polite and did not want to offend him.

The judge told us that she would make her decision and notify me within 5 days. I found out today that I am NOT GUILTY!!!
