Both Remote Keys Not Working - FIXED!!!

2005 C320 with 60K miles. Got home from a weeks vacation and neither key would unlock doors in rf (radio frequency) mode. Keys did work in infrared mode if held close to driver's side door.

Put new batteries in one remote - no difference. Went to check fuses (fuse chart missing of course). Found one on line:

https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...e-box-map.html

Pulled fuses 8,9,21,22,32 & 33. All were good.

Tried remote key again after pulling fuse - you guessed it, both keys now work perfectly!

That's what I call a cheap fix.

Lou

Odd. Could it be that reseating the fuses cleaned up the connections a bit?
Did you see any corrosion?

late 2009 CLK 350 Coupe Elegance, '65 Jaguar S Type wires
Could have rebooted a micro processor somewhere by pulling fuses & cutting power.

W202
Hello all,

1st post , been doing a bunch of reading and research here. Bought a W203 a week ago and trying to resolve the central locking issue. Sedan car
IR works, new batteries in fobs. One new fob, one original - original IR does not work

#8 fuse OK, replaced anyway
FM radio signal fine, AM is so-so (but I guess thats normal?)
Car had a flat battery before I bought it, ex-owner replaced it (something here?)
Car has a tint - ex-owner says the RF still worked after tinting

I would greatly appreciate any help!

Had exactly the same issue you are describing. See below thread. https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ob-issues.html You will need a new antenna amplifier.
