cell phone kit

i really want to make a cheap hands-free cell phone kit for my car since i can't find any available. i have a kyocera 5135. i just want to hook up a regular speaker and mic to the phone. how can i go about doing this? i will obviously have to use the "send" button to receive the call and use the speaker to hear it....and the mic to talk. i think its pretty simple if anyone knows how cause im totally clueless. thanks.

I see your from Canada, Im from Toronto where about are you from? Anyway since your in Canada you may have a Rogers AT&T or Bell Mobility in your area, if you do they occasionally have install bays to do that sort of job. I would recomend letting them do it cause it can be a messy job. Im looking to get it done also

Try CCM Navigator charger/holder/speakerphone. Works ok for its price (~30 USD)

Some phones have car kits you can get from the manufacturer that connect up to external antenas, more powerful amps and true hands free setups that mute the radio and stuff. Also many phones now do voice dialing but yes, they usually require you do press a button. Unfortunately most cell phone stores are in it for the quick sale so they have no clue. Check ebay. Here's an example of the proper hands free kit for a Motorola T720 phone....

Motorola Handsfree

Motorola Handsfree works fine on T720, I installed one in my C32.
I'm too cheap for the MB phone Actually this unit will work with many Motorola phones, maybe you have to just change the cable or cradle.

Nokia makes these kits too. You need to check Kyocera, and see if they have something similar.

The MB radio head unit has a MUTE connection on pin 3? The Motorola Handsfree will drive that line directly and mute the radio as needed for conversation and voice dialing etc. I am very pleased. In fact I selected the T720 mainly because it would operate with the Motorola Handsfree and had the voice dialing.

I bought the whole setup for about $140 as I recall. I went to the REAL Verizon store locally. (Not some fly by night kiosk at the mall). ATT store had them in stock too.

I would highly suggest you have a good shop do the install. BTW the instructions are almost worthless. NO specs, a list of 5 or 6 wires, and a hearty "Good Luck" DIYer.
