WHAT SEAT LUG BOLTS DO I USE FOR TSW BREMMA WHEELS BALL OR CONICAL ? The wheels are 18X8 32 Offset. Any good places to buy lug bolts ?
I called TSW today and they said a 25mm would work and even a 24mm. What do you think ? But would a Ball Seat or Conical work ? I need to make sure I get the right ones. Let me know. Thanks

Hi,

I put on the wheels with spacer today
but the oem bolts that was on the oem wheels are way to long
When on the wheels, there is about 1" to screw it in, but with the new wheels and spacer, it still has 1.5" to screw it in.
Am I going to be fine, so should I get the shorter one.
I am only talking about the front.
Because I know the back won't fit, cause it actually touches the ebreak, so I used the shorter bolts on the back already, if not car will just get stuck and won't move.

I just want to know if I will be fine in the front, or should I just get the right size.

Also, I want to know what thread size should i get
cause I see both 12x1.5mm and 14x1.5mm.
which is the correct thread size for my car, I have 02 C320

Speak directly to the wheel distributor. That is one thing you do NOT want to mess up. If you grind the bolt against the rotor you can either a) do what I did which is breaking the spring out of the rotor so you need new springs inside and that cost me $150 from the stealership or b) you could mess up the e-brake and completely screw up the rotor. That would be around $800 to fix. So, with that said, make sure you do it right and don't be hasty to get the wheels on, just ask the guys you bought it from.

See I was told 12 by the wheel distributor, but I don't think it worked out right. Honestly, keep the stock wheels on until you have a definite answer. Or you can just bring it to a shop and they'll order and do it for you. I mean when I put the bolts in that were too long, I rotated the wheel, oh say, 1/8th of a full revolution and it cost me some pointless cash.

bolt size is 12mm. You can get new bolts at www.purems.com. The OEM wheels uses ball seat, while most aftermarket wheels uses cone seat. Check with the wheel manufacturer to make sure which type of bolt you need.

Correct... I actually ran into this same exact problem YESTERDAY... OEM uses 12x1.5 front and rear...

anyone know where i can get spare tire lug nuts for cheap online for a 2002 c-class. I believe they are shorter than the regular ones. I think the tire place took mine when I put rims on 4 years ago, and now that i'm back to stock, I no longer have lug nuts for my spare. if not, does anyone know the part number or the size. thanks.

They look like they're about $3.40 from the dealer. I just looked-up on Duval Motorcars' website and they list a wheel bolt - but it's probably the standard sized one. For $15, it may be better to just go to the dealer and pick-up a set.

A couple of weeks ago my wife had a nail in her r/r tire (not flat) so I went to put the spare on for her. It was dark and I didn't notice on the spare it said to use different lug bolts for the spare. I put the long ones in although I had to force them a little (mistake) and when I when to tried to drive the car it wouldn't move. Then I read the manual and put the shorter lug bolts on. She started having a vibration at around 65 mph when we got the tire fixed. I thought maybe I warped the rotor so I changed brakes and rotors on the rear but still had the same problem. Thinking that the tire was defective I had new ones put on and balanced but she still has the vibration at 65 mph. The lug bolts were not stripped out. It doesn't vibrate every time but when it does it's at 65mph. I hate to have to go to the dealership to have it fixed for such a stupid mistake but I don't know what else to do.
It is a 03 C240 sedan.
Any ideas?

Pull the rear rotor and check the hub, you might have bent it when you put the long lugs in. the bolts will run into the parking brake assy. Forcing the hub outward. Put a straight edge across in a few different directions to see if it's straight.

You probably damaged the rear parking brake. It's inside the hub of the rotor when you stuck the long screws into. It tweaked the springs and screws holding the shoes in. Also warped the rear backing plate. Probably warped the rotor but we haven't had signs of that yet. This has been a never ending nightmare for us. AAA tow operator did it to us on my kids SLK. It's been to the dealer 4 times and it still squeals from that wheel while driving (not while applying brakes). I told my wife that it wasn't a good ideal to call AAA but she had to call them, couldn't wait an hour until I got home. If anything I would have called MB Roadside Assistance.

So where in the car are the shorter bolts?? And, does the 2005 C230 have the shorter bolts for its spare?

Most MBs have shorter bolts. Read you owners manual for instructions on how to change the spare. On my car there's a shrink wrap tube with 5 bolts in it.

I keep hearing a rubbing noise from the front wheels. I'm not sure if it is just the driver's side but that is the only one i hear since im right next to it. I used to hear a similar noise in the back so i bought shorter lug bolts for my Lorinser wheels. Is it possible that the front bolts are too long as well? Any other ideas as to why this noise is happening? It sounds like metal on metal.
