Does anybody notice the doorsills for the 02 and 03 C230 Coupe are different?

For the 02, the style is plain aluminum surface with indented wording. But for the 03, the surface is shiny aluminum with reflective black dots (similar to the pattern on the cloth seats) and the words are engraved, not indented.

I think there are different sills if its a C7 or not.

there are different sills for C7, i saw them on the one I test drove. ive never seen the sills for a 2002, but have seen the 03's which. never noticed the sills in my car until the illuminated sills were installed.

yup, mine light up too. i have no idea what they look like underneath the pretty lights.

So C7 also includes the doorsills? I've never heard of that... gosh I really missed out a big bargain.

yeah C7 is the best bargain going, aside from C4.

truelove79, illuminated sills are very awesome. during the day they just look like like normal doorsills, but at night....

glad i followed your lead on that one and i still dont miss COMAND!

yup, the sills get the most comments of anything else on the car. i've had strangers just stare and point at them when i park. i was gonna get COMAND too but decided it would be stupid in a little sports coupe. i'm sure not gonna drive cross country in this car. maybe when i get a nice big sedan someday, i'll get COMAND.

i wish i could see what the green and yellow look like. these are the other two colors i was offered.

i saw pics of them. i wanted to get green since my car is green. but the green just wouldnt compliment the citron. hard color to compliment. i was expecting something that was atleast similar. the blue i figured at the very least reminds me of a dealership sign as im passing it on the freeway. i dont know why but it does.

Yeah, mine is a 2002 C7, and it the same as the second pic. So there are no changes between model years, just changes with C7 or non-C7.

i agree with matt230k, your comparing 02 non C7 and 03 C7 sills. there was a difference in both model years non C7 vs. C7 sills but no change as far as i know or see between the model year and comparible sills C7 to C7 and non C7 to non C7.

Hey thanks for pointing that out... I just bought my '03 C230k last august and I still didn't get a chance to really get to know him. Im beginning to by reading through these forums though. =) So, any one else wanna fill me in on other cool and trivial features?

its hard to just point stuff out. ive learned so much from the forums even before i recieved my car. i was just lurking around the forums just reading posts for about 2 months before i finally ordered. when i did i knew what i wanted for the most part. i was confused on COMAND but finally opted against it. i wanted to wait for the 03 because of the new motor and bi-xenons expecially. at that time they were just a rumor with lots of skeptics they would even make it to the states. needless to say i do have them now as well a a few other members. just keep reading, topics that interest you or things you think may pertain to you or are just curious about. i learn something new everyday!

i did the exact same thing. lurked around the forums forever before ordering asking lots of questions, wanted COMAND but opted against it in favor of illuminated door sills and wood trim and waited for '03 for bi-xenons and new engine. glad i did.
