Turn Signal Switch Broken? 2004 C320
When signalling right, the switch doesn't hold. I have to hold it throughout the turn. Signalling left is OK.
Do I need a new turn signal (combination) switch? If so, what exactly is it called and if possible a part number would be awesome.
I have WIS and have been looking at the proceedure. It doesn't seem too bad. Do I really have to disconnect the battery? I'd rather not, so I don't have to reset everything. Any pointers or suggestions?
Thanks!
Joe

Part # is 000-545-23-10 Switch

You can probably do this without disconnecting the power to your car. I know for a fact (verified with my SA) that you can actually remove your steering wheel without disconnecting the battery. I have personally done it twice (for an unrelated reason) without taking any airbags to the face.

It should be pretty straightforward from there, as I saw some screws that I'm sure would let you remove everything else in the column. Can't help you there though as my clicker was replaced under warranty. Good luck.
Just wondering, what are the last 7 characters of your VIN?

Thanks for the info - I'll probably try to do this one myself.

The square stalks are ONLY on MY2002 vehicles. For the cruise control and other metal stalks, yes it's a direct swap out. The turn signal I'd be willing to bet is also completely identical, since it fits into the steering wheel column which didn't change AFAIK.
Easiest way to be honest is to find a buddy who drives an 03+, or swing by the dealer.
The number on the part is 000 545 23 10.
Searched the web for the part with a few results. When searching I also came up with a part number mentioned by another poster which was MBZ036008, but didn't want to chance getting the wrong part.
Found most reasonalble price from www.primepartssuperstore.com at $80.24 plus $9.95 ship. Most sites were over $100.
When I get the part, I will post the results.
Hope this helps anyone with the same problem.

Hope I don't have to drive all the way (one hour each way) to Mercedes and pay to have them reset it.
