Odd issue with idle
I'm brand new to the world of Mercedes after coming over from two Saabs (900s and a 9-3 Viggen) and a VW.
I'm having an odd issue with my 2005 320.
Sometimes when I come to a stop, the car starts to shake a little and the rpms drop, and I have no idea what it is.
It feels somewhat like what would happen if I were to come almost to a stop in 3rd gear in a manual, w/o clutching in.
After a couple of seconds, the car rights itself.
I have no idea what is causing this - if it is something as simple a clogged fuel filter or injector, or something wrong with the trans.
Any ideas would be helpful.
Thanks in advance.

I'm going to try cleaning my MAF sensor and order another one if that doesn't fix the problem.
Easy test fix and doesn't require a $99 diagnostic fee or finding time for an appointment.

It seems to happen intermittently when I come to a complete stop - and doesn't seem to come from either a hot or cold engine.
I've cleaned a MAF sensor before in the VW Jetta VR6 I had for a hot minute, so I was thinking I'd check that first before I sunk the time in on taking it into service.
Does this thing have a coil pack in it like a VW Jetta? I've had to JB Weld those damn bosch coil packs back together before.

For example, there is an Autozone near me that stocks this unit:

Anyway, no codes were returned. I did however pick up a bottle of fuel system / injector cleaner and filled up with a fresh tank of 93 OCT - and the shuddering at low idle speeds has diminished somewhat. At least I haven't noticed it happen again - then again, it has been cooler out so it may just be coincidental.
I am half wondering though, if the dealer put cheap gas in the car or if there was water in the gas or in the tank.

Run two tanks of fuel with Techron concentrate back to back & see what happens. It's the best & recommended by Benz.
If you get energetic then clean the MAF & throttle body. They are upstream of the fuel system so fuel additives can't clean them
I must say I have an attitude that if it's not broke then leave it alone. I do recommend carrying a cheap OBDII scanner in the glovebox of all modern cars. Keeps you away from the stealership!

I have the extended warranty, so I can get the car fixed for free - I just can't be without it and I'm fighting the 1.5 hr drive to the dealership in weekday traffic.
