Need help with spring install :/

hey guys i started installing the springs last night.. i got the strut off and also took the stock spring off.. but when i started putting the h +r spring on i realized i lost the little washer that goes in between the little washer that is between the hat and the threads ontop of the strut assy that locks everything in place..(washer like thing with 2 notches) it flew into the grass when the spring came off.. i was wondering if the dealer would have that part or where woud i be able to get it.. damn im pissed my car is on a jack till monday it seems

also i am having trouble compresing the h + r springs with a spring compressor is there any special way to do it because they are so small

Look at the DIY threads and find the Strut Bearing Replacement and I think there is a part number for strut bearing replacement items. I hope it helps and good luck with your install.

i looked at all the diy.. im going to the dealer tommrow and hope they have that little washer and are willing to sell it seperate to me..

um i wouldnt say its too hard.. the top hat and the way the nut secures it is very stupid and could have been simpler lol.. theres a thread on here for a tein coilover diy... it tells you all the tools you need.. how long depends on how you work and if everything goes well for you.. if you never did it before it will take longer..

Just now received your PM.
Yep, that washer is necessary to keep the bearing’s rotation from loosening the retaining nut atop the strut.

Not sure what you’re asking in your last question. Can you rephrase or post a pic?

No worries.

Launched some springs across the garage during my younger days.
The dents in my head are from other causes.

MB included no superfluous parts on their strut assembly. They’re there for a reason.

Post some pics of its new ride height when you’re done.
