Angry Rattles!!!!!!!!!everywhere

hi

i just rode in my bro's c-class today after he lowered it and put new 19" inch rims ...well actually he lowered it since about 2 months ago....

but not until today that i noticed his car rattles every where!!
especially when going over a bumpe or bad road
damn...it rattles everywhere...dash, back, head rest, seats...u nme it ....the rattle is very noticabel and i have a feeling it will become worse over time

my question is....Does your car also have rattles everywhere?
i suspect its because he lowered the car ??
coz last time before he lowered the car no rattles...only miinor and dealer fixed that.....but when he first lowered it (about 1 week after lowering) there is no rattle at all...only after 2 months

so guys what do you think cause this?is it the lowering?or are all c-class like that?

btw its about 13,000 miles C320 sedan

any help will be appreciated
thanks

if he didn't change his shocks, and just did springs, his shocks are probably shot by now. besides 19s are a bumpy ride to begin with. he probably needs new shocks though.

yes he changed the springs only
but it was only about 2 months ago

i thought the shocks would last about a year even with agresive aftermarket springs?

th rattles are everywhere

any input will be appreciated

I believe in for every action their is a reaction.
Lower vehicle=ratttles.
You cannot blame the car manufacture for that problem.
I can honestly say I have only one rattle and that is the hat shelf, however it is infrequent.

Is this true for all lowered C sedans? Lots of rattling afterwards?

I have had rattle problems with my 2003 C320 since the start. It's going in for the second time on Friday for these. There are rattles coming from the sterring column, from the center instrument panel, and from the glove box. It's really annoying!

ok, back to the topic...
My car started to have rattle sounds comming from the suspension a couple weeks after I installed the H&R cup kit (spring and shock set). I took it to the dealer, then they fix it for me for free. Now everything is fine, no more rattle sounds from anywhere..

I'd say true for ALL Cars with that extreme of a setup. Every car Ive ever been in that been cut or lowered has a hard, punishing ride...the large rims just make the problem worse. Ive been in Integras, Accords, Eclipses and even a friends lowered Lexus...they all ride like *****. Often times just going from a 16 to a 17" rim will result in a much rougher ride.

BTW, Oggle, your new sig is hillarious!

Yeah, like a 325i is a real "man's" car... You are so lame.

I cut my eibach spring, wear 19 inch and still using the standard shocks for over 6 months now, beleive it or not it doesn't rattle anywhere . Well i just notice a slight rattle coming from the steering wheel when going over uneven surface, is something wrong with my steering wheel or my shocks is about to go bust?? I can duplicate the noise by bumping the steering wheels with my hand

You may have stress on the steering wheel shaft and gear box, you may want to address that suitation soon.

I have the same problem with my steering wheel. It's kindof a squeeky rattle you can hear when you grab the wheel and push and pull on it. It's definitely something in the steering column, maybe where the wheel itself attaches to the column? Anyway, I also hear it going over rough roads or bumps. This is one item the shop will address when I take it in on Friday for service.
