Picked up Bordeaux Red C230K on Saturday
Edit: Also for the snow, look into some diferent tires for your new baby for replacements when you wear those ones down. Sumitomo HTR's are about $100 a piece from tirerack.com and they seem to have some good numbers(ratings) for dry, wet and especially snow. They are a High Performance All Season.

as far as the tires, should I worry about getting them now or wait until next year?
If you can live without your car on snow days (or can wait until the roads are clear in the mornings), you could squeeze through the remaining snow days; otherwise, it might be worth it. The C7 tires are awful in snow.

For the snow, I bought winter specific Dunlop Winter Sport M2 tires. A decision that has not been regretted.
If you don't mind me asking, how much were your winter tires?
Good to know that there is another Bordeaux out there and not that far away either...maybe I'll see ya on the road some time

I got the 16" Dunlop winter sports on take-off alloys for around $900 at Tirerack.
By themselves, the 16" tires are roughly $100 each. But a quick visit to the Tirerack website should answer any questions. The proper lug bolts were also included.
If you see me on the road now, it's the dirty car with the MB ski racks mounted on top.
I've had mine for just over a month (see subject header) and I've enjoyed every single second. I'm up in Canada, and I automatically got a second set of rims and snow tires (Pilot Alpins). All I can say is: What a blast to drive!! ... Even with snow tires. I can hardly wait until the spring arrives and I can unleash my C7s.
There is an article in "Elepent Scribbles"...
http://www.elepent.com/review.php?nr=230
Which states:
"Once on the road, it's a good idea for Mercedes tyros to remember that Mercedes cars do not care how fast you are going. Period. The C230 Sports Coupe is capable of the same effortless autobahn cruising as every other Mercedes product we've tested. For drivers used to other cars, this can be a shock. Even a capable Corvette or Celica tends to accompany high speed with a certain amount of drama, if only to remind you that you're really, really exceeding the speed limit. There are no such indicators from the C230 Sports Coupe. Forty, eighty, and one hundred twenty miles per hour all feel the same. It's an amazing feat for a small car. Don't say we didn't warn you. "
I can personnaly vouch for the above. One day when I was effortlessly pulling onto the 401, I wanted to pass a few road obstacles (mostly SUVs and semis) and when I glanced at the spedometer, I was surprised at how much I was really, really exceeding the speed limit. The car was as smooth as silk, and rock solid.
I love my car.
Enjoy Yours
