RDS(Radio Data System)

RDS(Radio Data System)

Hey guys, i have a 06 C230 and i wanted to ask you guys, is it possible by any chance to make the radio show song names when played from a CD or from the CD Changer ? or for that to happen , the whole radio unit needs to be changed? My friend's honda accord 2009 also shows song names and text when listening to a radio station which i find pretty cool.

yeah i hardly use my cd or cd changer I just use my Zune in the car. But I dont think we have the option for RDS

i know that the European nav system for the preface lift does rds but not song titles. you have the face lift stereo which i am almost 100 percent sure does not do song titles or rds. i know that the stock stereo in an 06 slk 55 amg does not do either. i don't know about the new nav systems you would have to ask someone here with one.

Lol yeah I love my Zune... I actually got mine for free haha I ordered an external driver for my laptop from newegg.com (love that site) and they sent me that on accident, funny thing is that it was on my bday so I thought someone bought it for me and when I found out I didnt have my driver yet I called them up and they sent it out to me and told me to keep the player for the trouble.

No, these cars do not have RDS. I wish they did though, it's a really nice feature. I don't know why its taking so long for other manufacturers to pick it up, GM has had the feature for almost 10 years now!
