EC red light always on???
Does anyone know why my EC (of the AC) is always red? recently my freon was pumped out of the system for a check up and they'd never put it back (they were going to charge me a more). Of course, is hot as hell inside my car and the AC wasn't working right in the first place, but the guy told me that the compressor was probably bad because the low pressure was pumping faster than what it was pumping on the high side?? Maybe it was backwards.
-- Funny thing, when I put the gauge in the low side srv port it shows that is completely filled... could it be filled with regular air? how can I try to recharge it with R134a?

You answered your own question but freon isn't used anymore. Without a gas to transfer the heat you'll never have cooling. I hope you haven't wrecked your system running it without any gas at all because the gas contains lubricant. Don't turn on AC until you get it charged.

The system has a safety pressure switch. It should refuse to run without refrigerant pressure.

How can I charge my system if the pressure is Normal... Can I just start adding refrigerant from the low side port using an over-the-counter system or does it need to be charged professionally with the machine attached in both sides?
