Engine Light comes ON then Off! Has this happened to you?
After 2 days all of a sudden while driving, the engine light warning comes on again. The engine starts having problems and feels like 2 Cylinders are not working. All of a sudden misfiring and having spasm attack "spattering".
It really felt weird. Good Thing I was able to get home. I called Mercedes Roadside Assistance and had my car towed from my home to the closest dealer.
They did a diagnos and found that the Magnet Cam Adjuster leaked internally. And the wiring harness was full of oil.
My car is a 04 w203 C230 and only has 45,000 miles. And I no longer have Warranty!
This sucks!
Sorry just ranting frustrations!

I had the car fixed:
They cleaned the sensors and wiring harness with solvent and I ordered the " fix"
that Mercedes sells. It is basically a short section of loom with an oil stop in it. Which prevents the oil getting any further to the loom.
As a preventive measure. Some will say the ECU can be cleaned.
But to Gaurantee no repeat troubles, a new loom and ECU is the mercedes Way!

This is a common issue. But I've read both posts repeatedly, and I still don't understand. Just 29 minutes separates both posts, yet in that time it broke down, was diagnosed, and repaired?
Edit:
I just noticed you posted this same thing word for word in the M111 cam sensor thread (where it belonged, I suppose) - here: https://mbworld.org/forums/3662501-post79.html. I just can't understand creating a NEW thread to post a carbon copy of what you already posted.

It's really not personal. I just don't get it when a person does use the search function, posts in the correct thread - and then STILL creates a new one about the same thing. The search function being "difficult to use" argument is solely because of crap like this.
