Clutch replacement in w203? What mileage?
Tried to search but it seems like these clutches are bullet proof. Mine didn't go out until almost 160k. Anyone else here had to replace their clutch?

^^^ but still other cars with less hp than our cars have clutches go out way sooner.. im happy they last as long as they do lol .. is rwd easier on the clutch than fwd or does it not matter?

Is there anybody out there who's had to replace their clutch?
If so, what was the mileage and how much $ did it cost ya?

Aftermarket Part Option
Exedy OEM Clutch can be had for $620

Fortunately just about every post mentioning the clutch notes that the factory one is still going strong at nearly 150-200k miles

$1k (engine was already removed, tracking down oil leaks) at 120k.
Also had the a/c condensor redone. Was on the verge of tossing the car into the recycling bin and getting a Fit - it wouldn't have been that much more money, unfortunately.

I don't really like any car in the segment. I had to help a friend test everything in the segment he ended up with a fully loaded 08 (brand New) sx4. still underpowered but drove better imo and his. it has been awhile since i drove a fit but i recall not liking something to do with its handling. didn't seem to like to be pushed to the limit like i drive occasionally. but i guess i have always had cars with enough power to get to 60 before the next century. (911, slk55, g8 gt, and my c320 which is not slow) btw i do know what slow is i had a 1970's Unimog 404.114 troop carrier.

Benz clutches are robust. I've seen a few fail but always due to shocking driving.

As far as the Fit, I think that on the next car, I'm just going cheap, reliable, and good on economy. My crx is set up for autox, so I've already got a car that I can have fun with in the summer - I don't need two cars that do the same thing.
I'm not sure why you would say that the Fit drives horribly, though. It's been on C&D's top 10 for several years now, and while the underpowered part definitely rings true, it's consistenly been praised for its handling compared to others in its segment - even has good slalom #s in most mags.

It was never called a Fit here or Europe. The Jazz is a fantastic lady's shopping car. Very popular in SA & beautifully screwed together. Has won many awards for quality.

Don't be - It's a damn good little car - but I'm afraid the favourite lady's shopping car here. I would rather have a Jazz than a Yaris or A Class

I have 92k miles on my c230k and sometimes it seems like it is slipping a little between 2nd and 3rd gear. Mods include Sprint Booster, and K&N air filter.
Can anyone report on the driving characteristics of the Exedy clutch?
