Question MBTech - C230K Brake Advice Please...

I recently returned from my local dealer (RAB Motors, No. CA) for my first "A" service at 10,600 mi.

My 2002 C230K is an automatic. My rear brakes have 40% of the pad remaining, the front pads have 80% remaining.

90% of my mileage is freeway miles so I was not expecting this much wear at 10,600 mi.

I consider myself a very conservative driver (do not drive aggressively).

Any thoughts regarding why the rear pads are wearing twice as fast as the front?

Regards, Tony

Probably because the tech who worked on your car didn't check the brake pads or was in a hurry and got it confused with another car when writing it down. I'll bet you still have well over 50% of your pads remaining, front and rear. I'd grab a flashlight and check for myself if I were you.

Do you find the ESP light going off a lot? This will cause the rear to wear really quickly too.
