oil puff????
I started my car today (07 c230 w/29k miles) and at first the car produced a small white cloud. i checked the car later, started again several times and no signs of said cloud anymore. I change oil every 6500 miles at dealer. is it something going wrong with the engine? any ideas?

Could be gasket problem and coolant getting into engine oil. Does it produce blue-ish white smoke when you rev the engine in neutral? Car still under warranty so take it in and have dealer look at it.

Your good to go then.
My car leaves a good amount of white smoke every morning, even in 75 F mornings at 7am, so im guessing your car is normal.
[i replaced both left/right valve gaskets and no im not burning oil, if any of you are wondering..]

If there is no mayonaise under the oil filler cap don't worry. As mleskovar says - just a fart.
Please remember that the rings constantly rotate in service. Now & again you get unlucky & all the ring gaps line up. A little bit of oil gets by and when you start the car after standing it burns this oil & you get a puff of smoke - Nothing to worry about.
The only time you should worry is if you run down a hill on trailing throttle & then accelerate & the engine blows a cloud of oil smoke it's a sign usually of worn valve stem seals or in the worse case rings. Usually the former.
If it's valve stem seals even that is not a train smash.
I think it was just ring gap line up. - Don't worry - just watch it for a short while. If you have any worries about a blown cylinder head gasket any good workshop can check your coolant for combustion by products.
Good Luck

I've noticed I get an occassional puff of white smoke. It only occurs when I start the car to pull it back into the garage after washing it. I think it has something to do with only running it for about 30 seconds in order to pull it out from the garage into the driveway to wash it. It never happens at any other time.
