PLEASE HELP!! Check Engine Light.

This past weekend after leaving a hot dog stand. I reversed and threw it in drive a little early without completly stopping. And gave me a big jerk. After about 200ft of driving I seen on the main screen ABS, ESP, then the check engine light came on. I took it to auto zone and got the obdII scanner and it read this code P0600. Can somebody please help me out and tell me the problem and how much it may cost to fix. Im really stressed!

late 2009 CLK 350 Coupe Elegance, '65 Jaguar S Type wires
P0600 = Serial Communication Link Malfunction

This usually means that the car went into limp mode. The car tries to protect itself when you do silly things.

Just restart & drive the car a number of times. This will reboot all the processors in the ECU, TCU, ESP etc. The problem should go away if you have not broken something in the tranny. If not you are going to have to get it onto a STAR DAS at the dealer for possible tranny readaption.

I think it should go away after a number of reboots. This is not that uncommon. Depends how brutal you were.

There is a way to reset the abs/esp errors. Your steering may just need to be recalibrated. Search for the reset. It involves turning the wheel from lock to lock a few times IIRC.

A Car
From my experience, if a CEL comes on, then clears itself, then comes back on, you got something wrong.

I had my CEL constantly reappear and disappear a number of times, and in every one of the times, i had something wrong with my car.
[dont worry though, if it still drives normal then you wont have to worry too much about driving it a few more days, just make sure you get it checked out]

white and whiter
a loose connector on the TCU will cause the same code and throw the car into limp mode.

ABS/ESP error shouldn't trigger CEL if it's a issue with recalibrating steering angle.
