Alan, the cap is on the far left of the pic, about a third of the way up. The tank is opaque with a black top.

One thing, though - I and some others have had an issue with that sensor (I recently had both that and the windshield washer fluid sensors replaced), so if it looks like there's enough coolant, that may be the issue instead.

I answered this earlier, but the forum decided to go down just as I was going to hit send.

I too have the broken coolant sensor. I'm comfortable with the level, but the sensor says low. Darn thing will come on about every 5 minutes.

How much was the new sensor Tommy?

For both of them at the dealership, it was $600-something. I'm sure it's a cheap part that's probably easy to do, but until either I magically get mad skillz or the Benz becomes as easy to work on as the CRX, I'll stick to free loaners and work I semi-trust.
Also, Ed - the windshield washer fluid and coolant level sensors are linked like Xmas tree lights (or a reasonable facsimilie thereof), so make sure you or whoever is working on your car double checks the ww fluid sensor as well.

I believe (please chime in I could be wrong) that they fixed that stupidity in later years. I know that on the early W203s you get a low coolant error if it's the engine coolant or the windshield washer fluid. This isn't a problem on the 05 model year.
