Seafoam

So i had never heard of this product before reading about it in a recent post here. concept of the cleaner seems like a good way to tune up the car and, after watching several videos of the process on various cars, appears to burn off quite a bit of build up in engine areas not normally cleaned with fuel additives. Has anybody tried this stuff on your benz? if so, did you notice a difference in engine health, and did you do the complete treatment (intake, oil, gas)? i am wondering because i am doing a tune up on my car soon and have relied on redline fuel cleaner and VP race fuel for my engine clean in the past (pretty expensive) and was curious if this product would be a good substitute, or even a better option. would love to hear your thoughts/experience. thanks in advance.

I used this a few times on a Camry. It made the idle smoother, but that car was significantly older and had way more miles than my 2005 C230. Not sure I'd use it on the Benz.

BTW, isn't "race fuel" leaded?

white and whiter
it would only make sense if you have 150k plus some miles and the engine is really running rough.

I had my C32 repaired few weeks back with the cylinder head taken off. at 96k miles the internals are still very clean.

i don't think you really need it on a newer car. All the name brand gasolines already come with carbon cleaners in the gas already. just buy some cheveron techron fuel injection cleaner and call it a day.

I have used it numerous times but only on high mileage engines needed carbon deposit cleaning. For this purpose it works great. It is not really designed for newer engines, and it can be very abrasive as it is solvent based.

I would be somewhat cautious about using this on a Benz and you might just think about a good shot of Techron Cleaner every few thousand miles instead, as that is the a product endorsed by MB. If I was going to use an internal cleaner on my Benz, it would be a milder product like BGK 44 and not Seafoam. Too harsh.
