Yea... I know it was only 19 miles... but if I would have stayed on the highway, I don't think it would have dropped much. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have gone much higher either though. By the time I got off the freeway and drove downtown, and then went up to the 5th floor of my parking garage I was at 39.6mpg (25 miles total and 53mph average)

I wonder for what distance could maintain that MPG - maybe it's time for a roadtrip. ;-) Anyone ever test there MPG on a roadtrip?

Road trip fuel economy for me is 28-29. I can't keep it under 80 on the interstate.

THE C350
for small stints under like 30 miles if i keep my speed down i have gotten it up to 39.8 with my big v6. for long trips i have gotten 32 dead. that was about 900 miles but i have the same problem LILBENZ230 has when i am out of va. way to many cops in va to mantain 80+. the speed limit is 65 and traffic moves at like 70. so when i am in my white Mercedes maintaining 75 or so i am a good target. the second i see the va nc borer i gun it every time. lol not a good way to make friends on the road. once i got up to like 85 and then got off at the welcome center and some guy in a minivan who was behind me did a really aggressive maneuver to follow me off the highway. he flew into the spot next to me yelling and cussing so i got in my car and left. he tried to follow but his odyssey could not keep up on the ramp and i got away without even speeding. lol i think he was jealous he was in his 40's with a comb over driving a minivan. i fell bad for the guy i would die if i had to drive a minivan.

You can't tell that says 45.9? It is slightly blurry but not so much so that the 45.9 isn't obvious.

BTW - were you going downhill or something? LOL

kinda... trust me.. no way a benz can get over 40 without a lil down hill help.. and no traffic on a freeway.

on normal conditions i get up to 33 hwy and 27 on the streets...

Same here.. but I didnt have any large downward grades... just feather-footed the pedal the whole way. The reason I did it is because my dad picked me up from the airport in my car and I looked at the MPG, he was getting 35.4mpg over 54 miles traveled, none of which is downhill! It kinda irked me that my dad could get better gas mileage than I, in MY car!
