Wider Evolution (C7) wheel

Did you guys know that you can get the Evolution wheels in the wider 8.5" (vs 7.5") width?

Does anyone have any pricing (pref in Canada)?

I had looked for an 8.5 C7 wheel and I was told by dealer parts dept. that there wasn't one. I looked online, built my own new C230K coupe and sedan at mbusa.com and could not find the option for a staggered C7 wheel package. Any additional information would be appreciated, dealer name, etc.

Does anyone else know about these wheels?

I think that you guys are maybe thinking of the SL500's wheels.

They are seven spoke wheels that look very similar to a C7/evo wheel (sans pleasure nubs) but are 8.5" wide.

Cheers, BT

Hi Voyager, where did you buy your car from? Lone Star? I asked them the same question there but they told me they don't have wider tire package for the C230.

Also i might not go with the RENNtech wheels. Everyone thinks they are TOOOO expensive. I agree with them. So i am in the market also for new wheels but still looking.

You maybe on to something.

I was gonna just buy 2 rear wheels for a staggered setup. Bummer.

I was curious enought that after work I went back to the dealer and asked to see the wheel catalog again. To my surprise there is indeed a second version of the C7 wheels, sized 17" and 8.5" wide. I've ordered 2 for the back. To me it's the cheapest way to get wider rear tires.

Iceman, do you want a set? Their MSRP is 568CAD ea, I talked them down to 480CAD, maybe if you're interested we can get them a couple of bucks cheaper yet.
Let me know by tomorrow if you can please. These are by all means not cheap wheels, esp. considerig that AMG 17" can be had for the same price at autoclass.net, but then you have to pay shipping, duties and that. So who knows...

I can post the part number, if anyone else is iterested.

Hey Thanks Voyager, But i am looking for 18's or 19's. Just wan't something different than what i have now. I am still going to shop around to see what is out there.

Enjoy those new rear wheels. I am just curious how they will look on your car. Post pics when you get them. Ohh and don't forget to lower. Thanks again for thinking of me.

In the MB wheels catalog the Evo (C7) wheel is called
"ALSHAIN" or something like that.

The part number for the 17" x 8.5" version is:
