Where to get replacement ment climate control knobs?
Hi Guys,
The 4 climate control knobs on my w203 coupe are starting to look worn, and I would like to replace them as they just clip off.. I have looked on the EPC with no joy, do any of you guys know if they are available from mercedes without replcing the entire unit?

Try your dealer. Need a dealer who will make an effort. Are you in Europe? Should be easier there. Benz had a kit at one time that included the radio volume knob that used to disintegrate on the early Audio 10s. Your car got the rubber knobs?

I doubt you can order the knobs seperately. Since you don't mention what year your car is, I dont know if your pre or post facelift.
I'm really not one to spoon feed, especially to those with few posts (no forum contribution), because pretty much everything can be found using Google. But I happen to find these on eBay while looking for something else, and remembered this post.

Ask the seller on ebay -- its a dealer so I'm sure they'd know. If not, you can try Steve (http://www.mbenznl.nl/).

Had the same problem...Dealer says no separate knobs available for sale.
What I did was...I took the black coating, primed it,and painted it with flat black. Only you would know it's painted.
You can meticulously cover the white line "pointer" but I chose not to on mine.
For uniformity,you can do all knobs.

Hmm! pity - That kit must have been specially put together at the time of the TSB for knobs falling apart in the sun

Alright guys. I did a lot of searching. This is an old post. I am wondering if there was a site that sells this.
I need the knobs on the climate and also the radio.
If possible, also the tab on the vent.
All these rubber pieces are failing and seems to be either peeling / gumming up.

Benz corrected the nasty interior bits for the facelift in 2005. Too bad the D2B to MOST transition means that it is very difficult to get facelift interior bits into the earlier cars. Can you post a picture of the wear you are talking about, 04mb?

I can remove the climate knobs, but I don't know about the radio or the vents.
Anyone know how these gets fixed?

The center vents pop out as one assembly, I believe. You should be able to replace that. Not sure the expense, though. The climate control doesn't look all that bad.

I think the knobs is failing from extreme heat. The sunshine we get here isn't too nice for these parts i suppose. Also on top of the protectant stuff we put on it might be a factor too. Somehow the chemicals in that stuff have decomposed the rubber or something.

The knobs were fixed long before the facelift. My knobs are all perfect. A dealer will try & sell you a replacement controller.
Contact Steve at MBenzNL. He is the sort of person that might have access to one of the old knob kits. I don't know who made them.
Your knobs look painted or coated with something. My knobs are matt soft rubber finish

Yeah! Matt I realised he had a late pre facelift. That car must have missed the new knobs somehow?? The early knobs were absolute rubbish. Maybe Benz was only diligent in their replacement for the hot climes of Africa & Asia. Early 2002 cars in SA production already had the new knobs.
Some strange things happened with US cars. He also has the older radio than fitted in ROW for immediate pre facelift.
I wonder where that car was built? Brazil?

For reference the only trouble spot I see on the facelift interior is the face of the radio unit. It is extremely easy to scratch it.. as I know all too well. 
Center console armrest is just a given.
To be fair his controls haven't disintegrated like I've seen some 2001-2002 cars do.

Yes - 2000, 2001 Knobs here used to disintegrate in our sun. Especially the Volume knob on the Audio 10. MBSA just replaced the lot under warranty when your car went for it's next service. A lot of people did not know they even had a problem.
BTW - Meguiar's Scratch X does a good job of polishing out minor scratches in your post facelift "sexy" radio face.
Pleased I have a local armrest - It's fine.
People here have chrome peeling problems on some post facelift dash bits.

Something is wrong with these knobs. I also notice this on the steering controls too. It's starting to dry up then gets gummy and becomes gooey. I end up having to clean the area noticing sections of the once used to be rubber is not longer there.
