I got rear-ended by an uninsured, unlicensed driver today.

 

now that sucks how bad is it. i ask that first because if you are feeling good enough to go home and get on here then you are felling pretty good. and that really sucks that it was a uninsured unlicensed driver. and i know this might make some of you angry but was this person legal? i hope that you are felling ok and that your car is not damaged that badly. i have never figured out why some people don't have insurance. i am a 19 year old male driving a Mercedes and i pay less than 71 a month for pretty dam good insurance. i will say that i have 1 little accident involving myself and a dirt road and a fing deer. got to love accident forgiveness. and zero tickets somehow oh and we need details road, speed, car that hit you, pics, police report, ssn, credit card numbers, place of birth, list of ancestors back to 1789. lol we like details.

 

We just need pictures, that's all.

This is what uninsured motorist coverage is for. Not sure how Emin would know the legality of the person who hit him. It wouldn't cross my mind to ask that question, as it has no relevance. Legal or not, without insurance Emin's insurance company will have to pay.

i ask because a family member was hit by someone here illegally from Russia i think and the other person took my family members insurance to court trying to get pain and suffering or something. but then ended up getting deported but somehow my family members insurance was canceled right after the case was dismissed because the insurance company had to hire a lawyer. i also ask because if you don't have insurance or license their must be a reason for it like to many duis, unpaid tickets, can't pass the test? ok sorry for the off topic hope you are well and that your car is fixable or totaled whatever you want.

your insurance should cover it and since it isn't your fault (i hope) the rates should not go up. as long as you have police reports to back it up.

edit: also you could have the cops get the guy some jail time lol...maybe deportation? LOL

 

i've painted my rear bumper 4x since i've owned the car. first time after the 3rd day of ownership someone hit my car and the last last time i painted my rear bumper i was coming from hooters and some old guy wacks me at a red light from behind. Got bumper painted last saturday

Same thing happened to me about a month ago. Minimal damage, but I still have to either pay the uninsured motorist deductible or pay out of pocket to get the bumper re-painted. Prob just do it out of pocket to keep the claim off my record...

I was pissed when it happened... I was completely stopped at a light (and had been for about 30 seconds) when the guy hit me – he obviously wasn’t paying attention. At least when the cops showed up they arrested his @ss

Ive painted two rear bumpers for 400 and change

 

Car wasnt too bad. Bumper is a little bent and paint is scraped off. No frame/bolts broken.

Your own insurance will cover the repairs if the cop report backs up your version of what happened. 99/100 times the front car in one of these types of accidents is not judged to be at fault.

 

How much is the damage? Did you get an estimate?

Well, the guy called me today and said he wants to settle without me talking to my insurance.

I would say **** that guy. Your going to go through the extra trouble. Take it to a body shop get a couple of estimates (usually high end place so they do a good job) then you take your car there and have them work on it. Then you send over the invoice (and estimates) insurance shop and say here is what the cost was. So you pay your deductible and the insurance takes care of the rest. You might want to cut a deal with the body shop so atleast you get your deductible back (i think you get what I am trying to say here). Then if you are physically OK then you just got your car fixed. But I would say **** that and would go to a chiropractor. You wasted time and money and your body took a shock for no reason? **** that guy make sure you go through you insurance.

I'm telling you if you have questions ask me (remember Insurance 101 at GCC).
I'm not trying to help you to scam the insurance company just to get what's yours and that's atleast compensation for your accident and not just a fix.

I forgot to mention the chirporactor works the same way. (You might not have pain now but you might bend over to pick up somehting and you might feel it.) You go to chiro and they go through treatment and the chiro bills the insurance.

I Dont know why would somebody call their insurance company when the guy is willing to pay for the damages, i dont know how insurance is where you guys live, but here in Jersey they will raise it , no matter what, they will look for an excuse in the police report to say you had a % of the fault and they will tax that ***. As long as your ok and the guy is willing to pay, let him pay. We all make mistakes in our life's , dont act like you guys are perfect. Glad You're ok.

 

^^ Ya we all make mistakes in our lives. That's why we all drive without a license or an insurance. God forbid that Mother Fauker got into a huge accident there is no way he could have payed. My friend had a Prelude and it got totaled because of an uninsured motorist he was in the hospital the uninsured motorist had no insurance and couldn't pay for car or his hospital bill.

So don't give me that BS stuff about how we all make mistakes. Because next time this punk might do a lot more damage.

 

Driving without license/insurance is a crime and one that can have huge consequences. I've never driven without having both. I also have never driven if I've had even 1 drink. If I have to drive, I stick with my Dr. Pepper. No excuses.

 

All the people i talked to said all it needs is paint from his plate scraping my bumper...
