C200k Throttle response & mpg
Need some advice please! Recently purchased a 2001 c200k auto, fsh 60k and very tidy condition... not long after I bought it the engine management light came on, but I didn't notice any problems, and since my previous car, an Audi, flashed its engine management light for fun, I have so far ignored it, computer says no malfunction.
The problem I have got is that the car has a habit of feeling very sluggish, most noticeable when coming off the motorway, and trying to accelerate away from a roundabout, acceleration is slow and the car seems unresponsive and unwilling to kick down and push on. the engine feels extremely smooth, there is no stutter.
Mpg is less than I expected it would be on this car, today I completed a 80 mile round trip of whicch 70 miles was motorway and dual carriageway, and a lot of which was spent at around 60 mph, the car returned 29.2 mpg.
Am I expecting too much? Or do you think this needs looking into?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Welcome - where are you? Your car has a M111 engine? Yes? What capacity & claimed horsepower? American cars have higher power output. Are you talking 29.2 miles per US gallon or Imperial gallon?
The M111 engine was never economical.
