19" + H&R Coilovers Lowering Issues

My profuse apologies for starting a new thread but did ask the same question in the W203/CL203 Suspension Discussion/Upgrade thread a few days back but unfortunately no luck.

I recently changed from 18" wheels to 19" wheels and I am now having problems lowering the car.

With my 18's (18x8.5 ET35) plus as 7mm spacer, I used the have the front setting to about 3 turns from the lowest setting and had absolutely no problems... besides scrapping my Reiger front bumper almost every 2nd day (good thing it's plastic)

Decided to get 19's and the wheel I liked had a pretty crappy offset but did the calculations and went for it anyway...

19x8 ET42... added a 12mm spacer and according to the calculations I did, I should have 11mm more inner clearance than the 18x8.5 with the 7mm spacer but unfortunately not working as well as I thought it would... the lowest I can go at the moment is 15 turns from the lowest setting and this still leaves a gap in the front wheel arch...

I have seen many beautiful W203's here with 19's and H&R coilovers and no wheel arch gap...

Please help, am I missing something cause it should be working

a quarter mile at a time
larger spacer? 19x8's should fit easily.

I could try a 15mm spacer but as far as I know, with a 19x8, even with a ET42, a 12mm spacer should be sufficient but just afraid I might be missing someting

Im assuming you cant lower it anymore because the tire is hitting the coilover?

on the 18" the offset is +35 with a 7mm spacer which brings it down to a +28,
the 19" is a +42 with a 12mm spacer which brings it down to a +30. so its still sitting more inward, than the 18"

you need a bigger spacer, with co's you need to bring the offset down to around +27 or 28 or something like that. it also depends on what size tires your using and what co's too...

with an 8" up front i would bring it down to around a +22 offset so it sits flush with the fender, but then again thats a pretty big spacer...

ROLLNNN... the 18" was 8.5" with offset +35, with a 7mm spacer... offset +28 (if I understand the concept correctly)... understand that the correct offset for coilovers with a 8.5" front wheel is +27 / +28... however (according to a wheel offset calculator)... the 19x8 offset +42 with 12mm spacer (should be a offset of 30)... should have 11mm more inner clearance and retract by 1mm compared to the 18x8.5 offset +28...

Is this correct or did I confuse the issue somewhere along the line

Appreciate all comments and advice
