low volume w/ ipod and changer!!!
I'm sure someones noticed how the volume is quite limited when an external audio source is being utilized, ie. an oem ipod adapter, the oem cd changer...but the actual cd player attached to the unit plays just as loud as the radio!!! anyone have a solution or a way to fix this...
or is my best fix to add an amplifier to simply power all of my speakers in the car?!?!

Stock CD changer is on the MOST bus, and should be just as loud as your "single" cd in the HU. Aux, as mentioned, is attenuated by MB, and their fix is to add an amp - go figure.

Does this amp work with the AUX input alone or is the iPod Integration Kit required? If this solution does not work with the AUX input alone, is there a different solution?

You can connect just about any inline headphone amp between the ipod and the aux input jack. The only problem is you're also going to have to provide the amp with a power source.
