New headlight bulbs and fog light bulbs for c230?

I have a 2007 C230.

I want to replace the low beam bulbs and fog light bulbs with blue bulbs.

But I don't want HID, just the brightest blue bulbs.

Which bulbs would be the best?

I don't recommend blue either.

When I see the fake blue lights driving on the road, I always go "fake blue lights," in my head. They don't look that good in my opinion, but most of all, they make you see worst.

I have a SLK and I was sad it doesn't have bi-xenon because my C does.

I purchased instead

Philips X-Treme Power bulbs. Yours would be H7 size I believe like mine. I put these in low beam, and it is a massive improvement over the stock low beams. The color is a fair bit whiter, but also brighter, further ahead, and further to the sides. Plus, from all I can find out, they are ok to use as they are DOT approved.

I'm quite happy with them. I read a review at Auto Express, and they highly recommend them.

They seem to be about the best halogen bulb you can get.

I bought mine on ebay. I thought it might be waste of money, but the overwhelming popularity of them pushed me ahead, and I'm glad I did. I feel more confident driving the SLK at night now. No, it's like as good as my c class at all, but significantly better than the stock bulbs the car came with.

If you do ever change bulbs, make sure to use gloves as dirt and especially oil from your hands will make the bulbs have short life.

What mac911 said. Blue headlights make it harder to see the road, and make the driver look like an idiot. When I see a car with blue headlights I get annoyed that there are such idiots with cars. Upgraded WHITER headlights (even if they have a HINT of blue) are a perfect upgrade. I replaced my low beams with Phillips blue visions - the name is very misleading as they are not blue, but a color very similar to stock HIDs.

I know you don't want HID, but I'd recommend to go for it. HID is cheap now and good halogen bulbs such as PIAA aren't!

please don't buy those cheap china made Halogen blue lights! I bought them on my 202 c220..and was the WORST mod i've done! less light than stock and burnt out within 2 weeks!
'm running DDM tuning HID kit on my w203 without any issue! best Visual mod thuss far! I would recommend 55w 6000k Color should be close to OEM color(Crystal white)..Make sure to Aim them correctly so you wouldn't be blinding incoming traffic.

Are you just trying to get a color? If so, pick what you choose and take the risks I guess.

However, if you really want brighter, approved light, I really can't recommend enough the Philips X-Treme Powers H7s. They are a bit expensive at $50, but I was out again tonight. With my stock bulbs, I'd have to turn off my radio display screen, to try to help me see better outside the car, doesn't even cross my mind now. These are made in Germany too. Probably the absolute best H7 bulb you could put in your car, absolutely the top.

So it's really about what you're trying to accomplish, actual improvement in how you see driving at night, or just going for a look you want.

Hella HID-look H7 bulbs OR Phillips CrystalVision H7 bulbs. both are DOT approved. whiter light then normal bulbs, but not blue.

I have to disagree with this. There are plenty of halogen bulbs that are color matched to 8000k. There are also bulbs that give a similar HID effect to their output. The Phillips blue vision bulbs that I'm running do this to a limited extent. Obviously you're not going to get a halogen that's as bright as an HID.

I did a quick search and yup they have a blue color to them..but I would rather have HID, brighter, wider beam pattern, better looking..Of course they have it's disadvantages glaring,,kind of hard to install, aim bulb properly to achieve a good beam pattern..

I agree with you, I would rather have HID too. I just can't see doing it on my car without having projector headlights.

a quarter mile at a time
tinted halogen bulbs give off less light than non-tinted versions, no matter how you slice it. Yes they will give you the "look" of HID's but if you think you're getting a brighter bulb, you're wrong.
