BMW = cheap interior?
If you guys think BMW has cheap-looking interior, I would say our MBs are not much better nowaday....
Take a look at the interior of this piece ***** Chrysler, it looks way too much like ours, don't you all agree?

Well, I would have to disagree. Chrysler is Chrysler, MB is MB. You cant say MB's interior is cheap because MB and Chysler are from the same company. Can you say Giorgio Armani clothes are cheap because they make Armani Exchange also? MB's quality is not the best, but if you only compare MB with BMW, MB's quality is definitely better. Just my $0.02.

Well, all I am trying to say is why Chrysler is letting the lower class vehicles to use the same layout for all the bottons & console. It's really disappointing for potential MB buyers to see similar interior in a cheap Chrysler. And some of us here like to criticize how bad BMW interior looks, how about out Chrysler-looking interior MBs?

The Crossfire uses the SLK interior right? It's pretty much a SLK rebadged under Chrysler. Now why you think that's cheap, I don't know.
Is a Dodge Viper cheap? It's more expensive than a C32.
It's not really a Chrysler-looking MB, it's more like a MB-looking Chrysler.
I also don't see how you can say MB copies Chrysler designs when MB had this interior years ago before Chrysler.

This thread is ridiculous! Chrysler puts a MB interior in a Chrysler and all of the sudden the MB's interior is cheap?! Who in the world judges the asthetic appeal of an interior based on what type of car it is in? Get real

Frank, are you sure that the Crossfire uses the same chassis as the SLK. I had not heard that. I guess since it's already available and it's probably cheaper since it is a W202 chassis.
But yes, that car uses many SLK interior parts, and also the 3.2L engine. It's more than just an uncanny resemblance. Most of the visible interior parts of that car are lifted straight from an SLK. That does not make it any cheaper. This is still going to be a $30,000 car, maybe a little less. And the SLK will change soon, so why not let Chrysler reuse some parts.

Almost everything about the Crossfire is identical to the SLK320 aside from the sheetmetal. The basic design and shape of the dash is lifted straight from the SLK as well. But I don't why this would make the Crossfire, yet alone all MBs, cheap.
By the way, the new Chrysler Pacifica and the upcoming rear-wheel-drive LH cars use the identical rear suspension design as the new E-Class.

Perhaps 3 series owners are upset that BMW components are in the 'cheap' Mini Cooper? I doubt it.
I like the Crossfire...not as much as I liked it in show car form, but I still like it. The nose got distilled too much. Its still a distinctive shape...we need more of this, not less.
