Anybody interested in Air Filters for C-coupe or sedan?
I am going to order both BMC Air Filters and ITG Filters. If anybody is interested, please let me know, I am paying the same shipping anyway.

Are the those the best aftermarket air filters for your benz? I haven't heard too much recommendations on them. do they actually offer better performance or sound? If any, how so?

From my personal experience the ITG got me 1 HP with no pulley kit and 3-4 HP with a pulley kit on my C-Coupe. It got slightly better results than the K&N. Vadim at Evosports lost a few ponies on his C32 because the filters are thick foam and blocked part of the intake. This is not a problem on the C-coupe.

Hey buellwinkle, that HP loss. Was it with K&N or ITG or both?

That loss was ITG with a C32, don't know if he also tried K&N, call him at Evosport, he has the details. K&N filters are very thin, I doubt the same problem would exist as with the ITG.

I seriously doubt that they make a K&N or ITG air filter for the '03 C230 but you can certainly check with them. Remember the time zone difference to the U.K. with ITG, it's best to call them early in the morning.

Thats what I am importing my friends! I am getting the ITG AND BMC filters for both the C230K and the W203 sedan.

I am using BMC filters on my C32 and I am happy about it. I dont have any before or after figure, but I can feel the car has more air and smoother when its 60mph+.

Actually Vadim showed me the airbox for the C32 and the ITG air filter and it truly blocked a good portion of the hole coming in. Can you get these filters for the 1.8L motor in the '03 Coupe/Sedan?

I believed the filters for the 2.3L and the 1.8L C-coupe are the same. Let me double check with MB parts tomorrow. If they are the same, yes, I can get them in either brands.

As I've said, I am very happy with my BMC filters right now vs. the stock one. I've ordered a couple of ITGs, I will test them out in a couple of weeks. But my gut feeling tells me BMC should be better because F1 Ferrari team uses them!
