It will fit. If I am not mistaken the 03 grill has 4 slats where the 06 (sport) grill has 3. I believe the sport grill (05 >) is black (but has chrome strips).

From what I heard it's all chrome. But then it's something I heard and i'm not 100% positive. BUT it seems like it might be just chrome.

I dont think its the same grille... The slats on the C280 Non sport are chrome and a body color. Like a silver.

Fitment is the same. If you are going to black it out then don't worry about color and chrome because you will need to sand both the non sport and sport grill. Just make sure if the 4 slat will look better than the 3 slat (sport).

Good Luck

ok, grill is perfect, dont know why i ever "upgraded" to clk look ...now a question: where can i buy the stock hood opened lever that shows up between the slats when you unlock the hood from inside. I had to change it to a longer piece for the clk grill, and i cant find my old one , so this piece is sticking out a bit ....

Nice, the grill looks good. Looks much better than the old grill you had on

Probably going to be my next project. Did you just sand it and put primer then pained it?

beauty of plasti-dip in spray can :P
just clean, spray..if you dont like it , wait till dry and peel off, leaves NO MARKS what so ever....painted surfaces, chrome, body, skin, window, etc...whatever you get it on , peels off .... wont peel off accidentally quite easy , but on purpose, comes off nicely

Do you have to remove the chrome strips and spray the grill/strips separately? This would be one hell of an easy mod for me!

Just clean so its grease free ( clean hands of latex gloves) . Spray and wait about 5mins between coats. apply 3 coats...so far my mini has survived year and a half with the coating on headlamps, taillights surrounds, belt line strips....

PS: DO NOT remove the chrome strips...paint everything at once

Funny. Hong Kong Photo. I take that bus everyday "68x" to yuen long to visit fam, like everyday, from that same exact location where that EW256 C class sits, in causeway bay. haha

Most of you know I'm some vinyl nut. haha

Well, anyways, Plasti-Dip is essentially "Vinyl". just sprayed.
For "PD" you'll need to properly "prep" the surface, especially for a grill, you don't want to have it chip!

1. Properly clean your "part" make sure that there is no grease or oil stain residue.
2. Using a 200 or similar grit sand paper, buff the part lightly, especially if it's chrome, you'll need to really work it. (it's not gonna hold if its a super smooth surface!)
3. Using the PD spray can, apply as follow (2 diff procedures).

P1. Apply VERY light coats in a fast "sweeping" motion. Light coats meaning, you can barely see that you coated the surface, apply as many coats as you desire, or until whole surface is covered. leave about 15-20 seconds between each light coat.

P2. Apply a HEAVY coat, in a slow "sweeping" motion, Make sure your heavy coat covers most of the surface. apply up to TWO heavy coats. and make sure it's applied after 3-5 mins, or after 15mins.

After either procedure is done, apply to dry, once it's in "tack" mode, if possible place under a "heating light" thing (they use at body shops) it'll look better.
