instead of selling my car i am just using my benz as a backup beater now bought a set of cheapest tires i can found on ebay and just got them mounted...
handling wise you can't compare them to my previous Pzero, but these ebay tires are actually pretty quiet and smooth.
$265 ain't bad for a whole set if people still about "General Exclaim" are still too much

2004 S55 (SOLD, miss it every day), 2009 GL550
I thought $822 was a good price for my 55's new shoes (it has some damn big feet!), but $265 is great. That's cheaper than the $408 I paid for my last set on my old CR-V.

I got a set of 4 winter tires for $200, mounted. Studded too!
Craigslist and eBay are your best friend. The best are people who just sold their car and have leftovers.

Not to rain on your parade but the only thing between your *** and the ground is your tires. I'm not sure I'd put my life in the hands of a tire manufactured in China. Spend a couple of hundred dollars more for peace of mind.
There are a few things in life I don't scrimp on and tires are one of them.

IMHO it doesn't really matter where they're made. Look at what happened to those American-built Firestones.. If the tires really were that bad, they wouldn't pass DOT tests (of course some bad ones will make it through the cracks, but this can happen ANYWHERE) and therefore wouldn't be sold here either, not from a reputable shop at least. If anything I'd be checking the traction and treadwear ratings, and some online reviews. I'm Chinese (by blood at least) so maybe I'm biased, but what do I know.
sleewell, that's $200CAD, so it's more like $180USD. There's your challenge for next time. Mind you, my winter beaters are 16" so that *may* explain the price?
Yes I am cheap. One thing I won't skimp out on though is inexpensive rims. A rim failure is a whole lot worse than a tire failure. Also, tires are wear items. Same reason why I wouldn't spend $$$ on a pair of runners.

Your coupe don't get no respect.
Those tires look like trash.
I wouldn't ride my bicycle with those on.
Well, let us know....
when you get them, just curious, where they're made.
The way I'm goin thru rear tires....

If you want it to drive and feel like a Mercedes, you have to put good tires on it. Just replaced mine with a new set of Michelins and the difference is simply amazing. Handles better, ride is smoother, and they are much quieter. You can put cheap tires on there, but then don't complain when it handles, rides, and sounds like a KIA.
As in all things, ya get what ya pay for. If it's about money, get the cheap tires (and get rid of the Benz altogether!). If it's about value, put some good tires on it.

C300 Sport/Palladium Silver on Black/P2
Maybe you'll find some others to get in the future.
Price is nice, but I'd wonder about them. Maybe brand new they are better than worn out other ones though, I don't know. Just speculating.
I just put some new Continentals on my old Toyota, and it made the car like new again. That to me showed the importance of good tires.
