H & R spring?

Im looking at some H & R sport springs with a 1.4", 1.3" drop. I was wondering are these springs good? It was between these or eibach but eibach is only a 1.2" drop. Will it be noticeable that the car is lowered with the H & R springs installed? If anyone have pics please post them. This is for a 2005 c230 kompressor. Thanks.

Yup, plenty to read if you search and check out the suspension thread. What is your goal, to lower the car or to get a tighter/stiffer ride? I would say the drop will be minimal with the H&R, and from what I've read maybe none at all with the Eibach. Your '05 is all ready dropped with the sport suspension - the dropped #'s you quoted above are compared to the non-sport suspension, as on the pre-'04.5 c230's. I would venture to say the ride will be stiffer with either the Eibach or H&R vs. stock sport suspension. Here's a crappy cell phone pic of my '03 with the H&R springs:

I have H&R. They ride great but drop is a bit uneven. Not terrible though. They will not slam your car but there is a noticeable difference between the H&R and stock.

snail - do you mean uneven between front & rear, as in the rear is lower than you'd like? I had #2 pads in the rear and switched them out to #4 pads so the rear is a tad higher than the front. Side to side they measure exactly the same: where the 'seam' along the bottom of the car meets the front edge of the front door is 10.5" and where the bottom seam meets the rear edge of the rear door is 12". That was a lot of words ... heres a pic:

I should measure that to see what it comes out as. I did mean from side to side. I can tell a slight difference in fender gap by just sticking my fingers in there.

That's my only complaint about the H&R springs. I've used H&R on almost all of my projects with no issues. However- the driver's side rear seems to sit a tad lower on this car.

What do u guys think about getting H&R sport springs and cutting 1/2 coil on the front with a #1 pad at the rear? This seems like what everyone is doing with there h&r springs. I just want to know hows the ride qaulity after u cut the springs?

... are always a good time.

I did the HR Springs setup just to achieve a decent dropped look. I knew that the ride would deteriorate... and it did deteriorate. In my opinion, based on driving in San Francisco the ride is now pretty harsh. But on the racetrack it is pretty damn nice!!!

As for the dropped look. See both pictures. One as the car is static and the other at speed and compressed in a turn.

I am running with 19' wheels and stock shock pads. I did shave underneath the car to eliminate the rubbing of the left rear tire onto the inner fender area.
