I think there is a thread around here. I will be doing the same thing this winter. I will take a lot of pics but will not be for another month.

1999 CLK320 (sold), 2007 C230 SS (gone), 2000 Grand Marquis, 2011 CR-Z, stay tuned...
I'm thinking about doing the same soon. I just purchased the 55w H7s which shipped today, and I think i'm going to get the 35w 9006s pretty soon. I am worried about where to place all of the ballasts, though. I don't want to have any electrical interference.

2. The fog lights are mounted to the bumper. Unplug the wiring harness clip from the bulb. Twist the bulb to remove from the fog light. Then twist in the new HID bulb into the fog light.
3. Finding a suitable place to mount the ballast is the toughest part of the install. On the passenger side, I mounted my ballast on the metal support beam next to the coolant resevoir. On the driver side, I mounted the ballast on the plastic wheel well. Not the best place, but I couldn't find a better spot (especially to keep the ballast away from other electrical components). I drilled a small hole through the plastic. I used a nut and bolt to secure the ballast.
4. Plug in the bulb wiring to the ballast wiring. Reinstall bumper.
Hopefully I will have time tomorrow to post pics of where I mounted the ballasts.

well......
I just installed the passenger side in like 5 seconds.....turn the wheel, remove the fender lining, and there it is
But, on the driver's side you see the HUGE plastic reservoir containing the Windshield Wiper Fluid......and idk what to do. I can take out the OEM bulb, but idk how the hell I would put in the HID bulb (especially since you have to be careful not to touch it w/ your hands or get dirt/dust on it)
I want to avoid taking off the bumper.....I think I'll jack it up a little so I can see the area better.......
what do you guys think?

Mounted it right on the wheel well. It's all plastic and the only spot I could find. I just drilled a hole through it, and used a nut and bolt to hold the ballast.
