apparently somebody thinks a C class is not considered a mercedes benz
Great info there. It is amazing that a total garbage thread about a very foolish boy can evolve to good info about HD.
Quick question (or two):
Are cathode-based direct-view monitors still the best because it seems to my eyes at least that projections don't have the clarity of the tubes?
What type are those $18K monitors?
Are there physical limitations that prevent aperture grill monitors from HD applications? Or are they just too expensive for consumer product?
The $18k monitors are Sony pro units model BVM20HD and are 20" the bigger 32" units are over $30k. They are only available through Sony Broadcast dealers and there is a wait to get one!
It takes 5 tubes to one good one at the 20" size. There are 5 lines in the screen holding the AG in place so it is very hard to get them perfect. The HD circuitry is also 4 times the price of SD and most HD is serial digital and must be converted to analog for use in a monitors RGBShSv inputs. The cheaper D to As are over $2k and the high end ones are over $10k. This is broadcast stuff though, consumers dont need such well built stuff at home.
At this time there is no large screen home unit that is truely HD capable for all formats. Some say they are but none do a full 1920 hor res yet.
C-class not a mercedes huh?
i believe the mercedes engineers that spent years putting effort into designing the new c-class would beg to differ.
a car that is labeled a mercedes, designed by mercedes, engineered by mercedes, manufactured by mercedes, shipped by mercedes, sold by mercedes, and promoted by mercedes is in my opinion a mercedes.
does this guy not realize that in europe mercedes sells everything from tiny little personal transports (what are they called, they look like golf carts) up to huge commercial semi tractors.
in germany, mercedes is just another car company. in the u.s. do we say that a cavalier is not a chevrolet, no. it just happens to be a more affordable model of that particular brand.
he also doesnt realize that in japan there is no lexus. everything is a toyota.

Why even entertain this Lexus moron.
It's all about the star baby. People see it and stop breathing. People see a Lexus and it's just another car.
I just thought of 2 cars sold at MB dealers that are not "real Mercedes", the G and CLK are not assembled in Mercedes plants by Mercedes employees. The G is made in Austria by another company and the CLK is made by Karmann. At least I drive a real MB
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Now this is the only C230K in existance, that I know of, that's not a "real benz", also made by Karmann.
And geez no matter what the car is called, it's still an outstanding car. A car built to 50-70k specifications are built to be outstanding cars, no matter what the hood ornament states. And Lexus has never offered a 4-cylinder car. Mercedes has such a strong brand, it can do this.
Besides, some of us are so clueless. The E-class is used as a taxi-cab in Europe, like Infiniti's M45 is a taxicab in Japan. And the huge S-class used to offer a 6-cylinder here.
who ever said that to you is gay. he doesnt know what he's talking about. a lexus is more like a toyota than anything else. toyota have weak engine and there body structure is like a peace of paper. as to mercedes benz, they have a hard body like a sheet of metal.
