WHERE GEAR SHIFT ATTENTION TO CONSOLE
Hard to explain, but where my gear shift attaches to the console, there is a chrome ring around the PRND and Shift Mode selection botton. Anyhow, this whole unit is loose, so when I shift from P to R for example, the whole thing moves. What is the best way to reattach this to the console?
I'm sure I haven't explained my problem very well, but I hope you get the idea. Thanks.

It sounds like the taps securing the trim are broken. You can follow the instructions in this thread and check and if they are broken, you probably need to get a new one.

I had this problem with my shift surround. The stealer broke one of the clips.
I was able to put a small piece of double sided tape where the clip was, and then press down wedging it in where the clip used to be. Still holding, believe it or not, and you can't see it.
