Underdrive pulley system is a start. Cost you about $500 from evosport. Of course, if u have mad cash, go for Kleemann kompressor.
IMHO, get the C230K sedan. More fun, peppier car.

If you already got issues w/the speed, you should go w/the 230K instead-I believe it is cheaper too. Or pay the extra for the 320. Believe it or not the prices of the mods start amounting after a while. If the 240 is a sweet deal then get the Evosport pulley for an automatic boost in power. Really worth it for the money that it costs. Talk to Ben, very helpful dude.

For more C 270 CDI speed...
....strip the interior bare, for starters, remove A/C system
These cars are obese in standard form. If they could have some serious liposuction, they'd accelerate a lot faster. Losing about 150 kg would be a good start.
The C 270 CDI is faster than a C 240, leave it alone, it's fine as is.
I'm always amazed when someone buys a car then immediately wants to make it faster. Just buy a faster one to begin with if you're into the "my ****'s bigger than your ****" scene at the stoplights![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
For the C 240 guy, yes a C 230 K sedan is the right choice.

lol...... i thought the 240 was sluggish when I drove it... they are right... if you want the 6 cyl then go for the 320. If you don't care then get the 230... i am loving mine
Or last... if you have tons of money then go set it up like brabus... lol his 240 is nice.
good luck.

The 230 is a 1.8L Supercharged I-4 with 189hp and 192 ft.-lbs. of torque.
The 230 is faster.

If you want a fast 6 cyl. sedan...get a C32 AMG...
Rumor is you can special order a C230K AMG (4 cyl.) sedan, but I think thats just suspension tweaks to match the C32.
Why comprimise? You wont get a C240 thats even close, no matter how much you modify it.

But there was no quicker diesel, the petrol 320 is much more expensive and we do not have the benefit of cheap fuel as in the states.
I am just enquiring if there is an easy way of improving performance that is good value for money.

I drive a E 270 T CDI as a " daily mule ", it's tuned from 170 HP to
204 and up to 460 NM ( I don't remember the standard torque ).
The mileage get better than std and it feels much better.
As "KLEEMANN" wrote, call Oakley in UK, an estimate will be 5-700
£, then it's done.

C240 Faster
My C240 was quick, it was a Manual, I had a ASE chip in it and a nice exhaust, suspension set up.
For 2003 a good choice would be the 230 Sedan around 27,000
The C230 coupe is too small.
I think a pully kit and chip on the sedan would be cool, and the car is cheap!
