Few questions b4 i buy myself the C230k...

Hello. Im new to this forum and new to owning my first MB. I currently own a Jetta VR6 with a few mods. The questions I have are pretty basic, but I find navigating this style forum is rather difficult (I browse VwVortex for my VW).

1) What performance companies are there?
I know of Renntech, Brabus and Lorinser

2) What is the overall potential to make more power?
I know its supercharged, and a smaller pulley should pull more power.

3) How flexible is the 2.3L motor?
My VR6 is a 2.8L, but not supercharged. Obviously the next step would be a turbo or supercharger kit, but they are not cheap.

4) What are some of the mods that most beginners start with?
Intake? Exhaust? Chip? Pulley?

5) What are the general problems (ie. rattles, window regulator *btw thats a VW specialty*, boost creep)?

Sorry for all the newb questions, but like I said this is the first MB in my whole life. Thx in advance.

You best bet for performance is to seek out what other DaimlerChrysler products have good mods for a small engine compartment. I suggest the Chrysler Hemi as a good start. If this site can squeeze it in a PT cruiser then the C230 should be no problemo. At 465 hp and 486 ft pounds of torque it should be able to beat anythin Upsolute, Kleeman, Carlson, Wetteraur, Brubas can do to the little coupe.

Huh? I dont understand what the Hemi has to do with Moding a C230.

To answer your original thread:

1) a lot of companies but what do you want to do? How much money do you have? You know the basics. Intake, exhaust, chip, high flow cat, and pully upgrade.

2) you get a larger pully from what I know not a smaller one. It makes I think some 40 more hp in the end or something...Im not too sure I havent really researched it.

3) I dont understand the question. Are you asking how do you go all out crazy with the thing? I figure build up your motor so you can boost higher.

4)#1 answers that I think.

5) there is another thread about that here on this page so look around.

Hope I was able to help a little. Im not too sure about the C230K. Sorry. I tried thou. hehe.

Who makes a pulley kit? And who would be the most popular for a chip upgrade?
