No front plate?

I live in southern california and i have just received my plates from the dmv for my 05 c230. I notice that front bumper doesnt have any place to mount the front plate on. Living in southern california will i get pulled over for this? If i want to put the front plate on do i have to take the car to the dealer to have it done?

There's a plastic plate mount that screws to the the front bumper. You'll end up with two holes in the bumper from the screws that mount it. It's a 'fix-it' ticket in CA. Usually they won't stop you for it but they can. Depends on the area/city....since they've started installing stop light photo ticket machines they've been stopping people more. You can get a bracket that mounts in the front tow hook hole and avoid screwing up your bumper.

This is what you need. Since you already dont have holes drilled then buy this product.

You want to drill holes in your front bumper? I would absolutly get the Gominigo kit.

The bracket you get from the dealer mounts in the front middle where it is supposed to go. I agree with you that the tow hook mount looks like ten pounds of shirt in a five pound bag.

Get the one that doesn't require holes in your bumper. Don't use it until you get a ticket....then use it to get off the ticket, then remove with no holes

Sounds like a winner. I'm still rolling the dice with mine just leaving the bracket in the trunk with the plate.

I think you might be able to mount it in the front. Wherever there is a mesh then you'll be able to mount it. So in the middle sounds like it will do.

Industrial strength velcro, comes on a 3inch wide roll at Ace Hardware. One strip for the top of the plate, one for the bottom horizontal.
