C-230 Kompressor
C230 Kompressor Panorama Roof Stuck
My Kompressor is great, but the panorama roof stuck halfway open...it took a huge effort to close it manually. We're talking a 03/150k miles, with the roof cycling hundreds, if not 1000+ plus times.
The rails have always been greased and are straight/true. All circuit breakers check sat.
I'm thinking the motor is toast or a gear tooth is busted. The action is smooth, but I just don't understand how the roof locked up halfway...what could cause this resistance? Does the motor work harder as the roof slides aft?
Thanks so much for giving a hand on this one.

Does it just stop dead at halfway? Can you retract it back?
Sometimes mine is strange and when I close it, it goes to about 2-3 inches from being closed - stops - then retracts back to about the halfway point
. Keeps doing that over and over when I try closing it til I manually push the sunroof to the close position. Other times it works fine. I've inspected the rails and there doesn't seem to be anything blocking it, but maybe ill just spray some WD40 on them just to make sure.
The only thing I would suggest for you would be giving it a gentle push to help it close....works for me.

Possibility it became unprogrammed. I remember there was a problem back in 02' with some of those. Try using the keyfob, hold down lock or unlock (windows should go up or down along with the roof opening/closing). If it does move, use the Keyfob to open it completely and shut it completely once or twice, then it should work again.
