Post a pic of your modified headunit
Hello everyone -
For all of you with a modified headunit in your W203, could you post a picture? I'm trying to get some ideas..
I know several howto threads or general photo threads exist, but I'm after this specific thing - and I've been rifling through these for the past 2 hours
Thanks!
Daniel

Regarding the removal of "middle part", and I'm assuming you're taking about the entire assembly including the chrome trim, is very easy. All you do pry it out. It's held by 4 clips(if I remember correctly) on each side, and the thing will pop off.

I was gonna finish up the upper trims and the ones on the door but decided to leave it that way since I'm trading in the car soon.

MP Design offered a CF trim for the W203 but I think it's discontinued.
I wrapped the stock trim with CF fabric. A couple sponsors on here offer the fabric in a wide variety of colors.
Here is another shot of my trim with regular CF...

So you rockin the CF fabric infected? How is it? I was plannin on doin it too, just tryin to see how hard it was to do and how it feels. I see that it looks great, and I can imagine it looks better in person as well

jahoo - I see 'Pioneer' on your speedo display... Does that unit integrate with the controls/display seamlessly, or is that a custom setup?

The pioneer display will show up if you have the steering wheel control module hooked up.
Sorry to go off topic but the CF fabric is great! I've been using it for a couple years now and even went through a few different colors of CF without ever having any problems.

Yeah, can you guys state whether your new HU is compatible with the steering wheel controls?
What kind of coin am I looking at to get a HU with a DVD and Bluetooth that also works with the steering wheel controls?
Thanks
Henry

In order for the HU to retain the steering wheel controls you need to install a controller sold separately.
For Pioneer I believe it is CARPI 131 for prefacelift and CARPI 133 for postfacelift.
Correct me if I am wrong.
