Problem with aftermarket speakers when car is on
Just recently got a 4 channel amp and ran new wires for my aftermarket front speakers to my 4 channel amp in the trunk. However when I turn on the car there is a clicking or ticking sound coming from the front speakers. When the car is off and in the on position, there is no clicking sound. I tried everything to get rid of this sound. I rewired everything, checked the connections to the amp and still nothing.
Any suggestions to how I can fix this or what the problem might be?

I used the stock ground with no problems. But somehow you have noise. I would set up a wire with a alligator clip and try different grounding points. Does the noise get worse when the wipers or turn signals are on?
Did you use any ground loop gear that came with the headunit?

This happened when I wired my friend car. Is you amp setting really high? Try lowering your amp setting. Also do you have RCA cables? Those usually give off the sound. I tried grounding different places and it would still make the sound. It was more of a whining sound. Try to see if your amp setting are high. That's what fixed my friend's issue (even though we bought filters it wouldn't help)
Overview:
Check for good ground as Ed stated.
Check to see if amp settings are too high and lower it.
Do you have a good amp or is it crappy ebay one?
Good Luck

Usually the recommended practice is to run the signal (sound) cables along one side of the car and the power cables on the other to prevent interference. Have you done that, or do you have all wires running along the same side?

yeah I turned the setting all the way down for the components on the amp and no ticking sound, but when I listen to my speaker up front I can barely hear them. I have to turn my volume up to 50 (as opposed to the normal 25-30 range i listen to) just to hear my music.
btw i'm running a audison srx 3

okay so I moved the remote wire (signal cable) from one side to the other and still the clicking sound is there.
Does it make a difference if one of my rca cable is running along the power wire? I figured it wasn't a big deal since the rca wire is for the sub and not related to the front speakers...
