yeah, I've also gotten the "ESP Unavailable" message on occasion when it's been significantly colder than usual, but it usually goes away in 30 seconds and the car returns to normal.

If you can find it buy it. It's a very sexy car.

idk if I'll get enough $ for a C32, let alone a C55

I had 75,000 Miles on the clock; I was just about to do the B service and a ATF flush.....
The 190E 2.3 16V is a great car if you can still find one that has been loved. Most of them are getting tired now.

The light 1st turned on in the morning, I drove to school (and turned off the car), and while driving home later I crashed. So the car did re-start....error was still there

*I saw a sickk C43 FS on craigslist....only to find out that it just sold. damn

Glad you guys are alright. If you were to get a 32/55 amg, watch out for the higher mile ones. kompressors and superchargers go out around 100k, I hear.

The roads were wet last night and an F150 made a wide sweep too quickly, and his rear kicked out and nearly clipped my front bumper. I think I'm lucky that I only had a few rock chips added to my bumper.

Holy dip. I just looked at the pictures. Some scary isht, man. Again, glad ya'll are alright.

thanks for the kind words EVERYBODY....idk why I didn't say that earlier lol

I'm lookin at a Black C32 w/ 60K miles for like $14K.

There's also a White C43 w/ 78K miles for like $10K

There's also a pretty nice 190E 2.3 16V Cosworth with like 100K miles for like $7K

I think I really wanna AMG or M or something special.....

Thats incorrect, i have 104k on my c32 and the supercharger is fine. The sc pulley bearing goes out after 80k. You can get that fix for $70.

The SC on the c32 is actually made by a japanese company called IHI. Its probably one of the most reliable parts on the car.

Don't spread misinformation.

Indeed. We have lots of higher mileage C230 Kompressors around here and S/C failure is not something I've seen.. ever. I know it can happen, but it's not like you reach 100,000 and boom.. there it is.

The pictures reveal a very, very totaled C230.. Best of luck in your new search. The C32's engine would more than make up for its pre-facelift interior, IMO. I prefer the C32 over the C55.

that seems kinda low...you should go off of edmunds, since it goes off of market value. Insurance usually goes off of market value in your geographic area.

^ so edmunds says like $12-14K

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv...569950034.html

how do you think that looks?.......

I hear that 2002 is the "worst" model, and there are a few '03-'04s out there....but they all have like 80K miles

the 02 and 03 c32's came with the leaky radiators. They switched from the crappy valeo to behr radiators in late 03 and 04 models. The intercooler pump goes out after about 60-80k. Other then that, they all have the same common problems that all w203 have..basically the electronics.

The motor and transmission is pretty much bullet proof. I would ask for a service history. See whats been replaced, like radiator, intercooler pump, seat controllers.

Also, Shiv, you're much more likely to get a figure from insurance that is close to KBB retail than trade-in. That said on the trade-in. But KBB is absolutely the most ridiculous dealer-biased BS out there. 10,900 on trade-in in excellent condition but 15,900 on dealer retail? I've found this to be the case without fail - KBB builds in a $5,000-$6,000 profit for dealers.. so of course, dealers use them religiously. They're really full of it, IMO.

You should get $15,000 - $16,000 and no less. The C32 is a good pick and you'll be armed with the information you've learned from MBWorld.

Wow, that thing did take a good knock. At least it did what it was designed to do and kept you safe.

Have you heard what the insurance company is going to give you for it (are they totaling)?

like I said, I should find forsure what's going to happen tomorrow or Wed.

as for C32 problems....I pretty much heard those 3 again and again. That's why so many of you guys have upgraded IC pumps, right?

If Farmers calls me tomorrow and says "Ok, your car is totaled. We looked up the value....and we're going to give you $10K" what can/should I say?

"I'm sorry, I thought you said $10,000."

I really don't see this happening. Was C230 paid off?

the intercooler pump is made by bosch. Goes back to what i said about bosch being crap. The johnson pump flows better and costs about the same as a oem bosch pump. So most of us upgraded for cost and performance purposes.

Looks like a new fender, door, rocker panel, rocker cover, bumper cover, bumper assy, headlamp, adj hood, and possibly door side inner floor pan plus all 3 of those air bags, its about 9-11k in damage from what I put in on our computer (collision repair)

Its totaled a C230 05 in perf condition is registered as est value of 14-16K so 75% of threshold.

If you have gap it will pay the amount your upside down (if any)

Good luck with it

BTW C280 4Matic would be a good middle between a C32 and AWD, more power then a 230 and awd like a 240.

I can't get down with the so-very-plain looking W203s without the Sport package. I'm thinking that the OP will probably feel the same. No offense to anyone who owns one, I'm sure they're fantastic and the 3.0L M272 is a good engine. But the W203 needs the Sport package to appeal to me.. without it, it seems emotionless.

And his C230 had the deployment of 4 bags. Both frontal and both side-protection for the passenger side. It's most definitely totaled.

I think we still owe like $2-4K on it.......I'll obviously have to pay that off 1st, right?
