Check Engine indicator

Check Engine indicator
Weird issue with the Check Engine indicator in the intrument cluster....sometimes it's on, sometime's it's not.

I recently had an oil change at the dealer (840 miles ago), but this seems unrelated. No "error" messages on the display...and the gas cap fits properly.

Code tester says "no fault" and the car seems to be running great.



Any tips or clues would be appreciated....

There isn't much to be said. You have to get the code read. Sounds like you might need Star Diagnostics to get to it.

You need a more expensive code reader that can pull up DTC history.

STAR showed nothing at the local dealership. They said they "reset" the Engine Management Computer but they could not clear the dash light. Next suggestion was a new instrument panel ($833.00 plus labor) - ouch!

That doesn't sound right at all.. maybe a new shop comes into play soon..

Wow. Giant load of crap. Your dealer doesn't know what they're doing. Go elsewhere.
