car accident or not?

Quick question guys. Myf riend was looking at a 2007 C230. Very clean not a sratch anywhere not even on the rims which is rear for NYC vehicles. I was looking at the vehicle in detail but from a distance i noticed that there was no rear spoiler? The CARFAX said there was no "reported" accidents but didn't all 2007 C230's come back the spoiler standard? And if so how is it mounted because it looks like there was never any marks for a spoiler or anyting like that?

All 07s came with that spoiler but it could've been taken off at the request of the previous owner. My 2005 does not have a Kompressor badge and never did - even though all the rest do, and it was never in an accident.

The spoilers isnt bolted on so thats why there is no marks of it being on there. Like Lilbenz said the previous owner could have asked to get it removed which is simple with a heat gun since it is held on with double sided tape.

if your really concerned about a accident. You can buy a paint density tester at home depot for like $40 and test the paint density. You can compare the quarter panel and fenders and hood. If the car's been repainted the oem paint will be more dense then the repainted area.
