Question Manual Transmission Oil Change (Do I need to do this?)
I read in my maintenance guide that it said to do a transmission oil change at 39,000 miles. So I called my Mercedes dealership and they told me that I didnt have to do it. Is that right?

I prefer to change manual transmission and differential fluids every 30k. I would definately suggest changing it.

Well, I got a call from my dealership and he said that I dont need to change it for the life of the car. I think I'm going to change it at 50k.

The guy at the dealership is probably talking about the automatic transmission fluid. I'd go by the book on this one.

It's stated in the Owners Manual for a reason.. i don't know about you, but wouldn't you trust the owners manual?
