Hey rwcC230,
I live in San Diego too. That is a really awsome picture. Who took that for you? I have been trying to get my friend who is a photographer to take a picture like that for me, except that I want to be rounding a turn.

it's an auto i wanted a 6'er but i went for this one. it was on the dealers showroom floor. exactly how i wanted it p-roof, heated seats, bose, leather, cd, and some extra stuff, and the auto. after 2 long months of searching, i wanted to go 4 the 230, but i wanted the 6spd. this lady was eyeballing the car as well, so i told the dealer "i waited long enough for a new car, the auto tranny will have to do, tell that lady the car is sold." i didn't want to wait any longer than i had already waited. so screw that lady i took the ride.

goodluck with it.
JustinTRW- its easy to do burnouts with and auto without putting in in neutral. just hold the brake down with your left foot and revv it to like 2,500 or 3,500 RPM and just let go of the brake and floor it. it will spin the tires easy with the ESP off.

Why even let off the brake? You can just keep holding the brake and the car will not even move, just spin the tires. This looks like what MONO SKY is doing. I assume, based on the picture, that the coupe has enough power to keep the tires spinning and overcome the brakes, but my coupe is a 6spd. and haven't tried it. But I have done this in the past with E's and SL's, just not to the point where I'm burning all the rubber off of them. Those tires aren't cheap.

well mon-sky u got me jealous. today i was pulling into my complex and i pulled over into a side street and decided to do a burn out.....lol
i held my foot on the brake hard and just stepped on the gad not all the way and the tires just spun so easy, it was pretty fun. although i did not do them like yours yet.

Yes, indeed. "Kaefer" means "Beetle" or "Bug" in German. I lived there for a while, and even did an apprenticeship with Mercedes Benz (hence my love for the cars).
Thanks for the welcome message, by the way. This seems to be a very cool place for Benz owners to exchange information.
